Feedback invited on proposed Parking Bylaw change
Nelson City Council is proposing to make some changes to the Parking and Vehicle Control Bylaw.
This is to bring the references to the parking meter technology into line with the changes that will happen next year and to make minor terminology changes.
It also reflects that only one hour of free parking will be available per vehicle per calendar day under the new parking technology.
Council is in the process of seeking tenders to change to a “Pay by Plate” parking system. The existing bylaw includes multiple mentions of the existing “Pay and Display” paper ticket meters that are currently in use.
The proposed wording changes to the Bylaw are intended to make it relevant to new and future parking technology.
You can see a copy of the Bylaw, highlighting the proposed changes at Civic House in Trafalgar Street, the libraries or download the PDF: Parking Bylaw Proposed Amendments 12 September 2019 (2.1MB PDF).
Please send us any feedback on the proposal by Wednesday 16 October. Please complete an online feedback form or post it to:
